Artfight 2025 - Fossils vs Crystals

Above is my themed profile decoration, my thumbnail border I made for my attacks, and the card thingy I think I only ever put on my carrd so probably hardly anyone saw it lol.
Attacks - 53 in total
Click an image to view it full-size. Click on the text under and image to find links to the recipients Artfight profiles, and read a short blurb about the drawing, mostly about the mediums I used. Some are extremely short and not really worth checking but if you're wondering what I used I hope it answers that.

For user mazegh
My first attack of the year, continuing my tradition of drawing a trans pride themed character. This one is based off the trans-masc pride flag, though, my colors ended up a little bit off, oops. I used a combination of sharpie markers for some of the base colors (which may be where I went wrong) and gouache paints and colored pencils for details.User link: artfight.net/~mazegh

For user Near_Sighted_Crowe
Mostly gouache and colored pencils, but I used alcohol markers for the base hair and skin color, painting the gouache pink over the dark brown hair, which gave it a pretty convincing dyed look, I think! There is also some white paint pen.

For user zhetpack
I believe this was another one I used some markers for some of the dark colors. Mostly gouache paints and colored pencils.
User link: artfight.net/~zhetpack
For user Jakichi
Gouache paints, colored pencils for detail, and pen for lines! At some point I was kind of choosing between colored pencils and pen for lines/details. It's fun to use both!
User link: artfight.net/~Jakichi
For user nh0ki
Unlike my usual, I wanted to draw my finalized lines before I put down the colors. I used a fine tipped sharpie for lines, and colored with gouache paint, trying to keep it thin enough to not cover the lines. Think there's a tiny bit of colored pencil.
User link: artfight.net/~nh0ki
For user kuroeko
Gouache paint and colored pencils. I worked hard on the lines on this one, switching between many different colored pencils. I find that layering light colors into the dark in the lines tends to have a really nice look. I especially enjoy layering pink tones.
User link: artfight.net/~kuroeko
For user BunnySoap
Gouache paint, mostly from my favorite pastel palette, and colored pencil.
User link: artfight.net/~BunnySoap
For user BlackCockatiel
Gouache paint and colored pencils. I relied more on the colored pencils for shading and textures, with the gouache really only serving as a base coat.
User link: artfight.net/~BlackCockatiel
For user N00dleArtz
Gouache paint and pen with a little bit of colored pencil. Pen looks so sharp and striking against a thick layer of gouache. It's generally faster than lining with pencils too. The drawback is that it's less forgiving so it feels scarier to do.
User link: artfight.net/~N00dleArtz
For user vesperinox
Gouache paint and colored pencil. Adding highlights with white or other light colored pencils makes a big difference.
User link: artfight.net/~vesperinox
For user Pinkra5
Gouache paint and colored pencil. Tried to make the colors colorful and mix-y, or something. I really like yellow highlights.
User link: artfight.net/~Pinkra5
For user honeyfumble
Sharpie markers and ohuhu markers lined and shaded with colored pencil. I think there's some paint pen too. This was a bit experimental, and sadly I don't think the scan looks great. But it was definitely fun to do.
User link: artfight.net/~honeyfumble
For user PeacefulDaydreams
Gouache paint and colored pencils. I really enjoyed doing the lines sort of two-toned, with the pink and purple.
User link: artfight.net/~PeacefulDaydreams
For user Starsarekind
Gouache paint and colored pencils. Pretty sure this is when I realized I should get out my fine-tip paint brushes. This opened up the door to using gouache for fine details that I'd normally save for a freshly sharpened colored pencil.
User link: artfight.net/~Starsarekind
For user Maiox
Gouache paint and colored pencils. I think this was a new outfit for the character, I improvised it based off a couple of pictures on I managed to find on Pinterest. (Pinterest is crumbling and im sad)
User link: artfight.net/~Maiox
For user fluffynightmaree
Sepia pens, watercolor and gouache paint. I really wanted to do lines before color again, so I tried to use regular watercolor so as to not cover up my lines, but I'm really heavy-handed with my paints and I still got it too thick, so I started using my gouache anyway since I was struggling with my watercolor colors. I had to go over my lines in several places in the end. The tone of these pens are still super light.
User link: artfight.net/~fluffynightmaree
For user batbat
Gouache paints and colored pencils, with black sharpie for the background. The high contrast confused my scanner and I had to wrestle with the settings to make it look right.
User link: artfight.net/~batbat
For user Sealinthehouse
Gouache paint with colored pencils. I've written that a lot today.
User link: artfight.net/~Sealinthehouse
For user FusionFlare
Gouache paint and colored pencils, I specifically remember having a really good time with my fine tip brush when I was doing this.
User link: artfight.net/~FusionFlare
For user bubblefishy
Gouache paint and colored pencils, it looks like I may have exclusively used my pastel paint palette, this is a pretty good example of what it looks like.
artfight.net/~bubblefishy
For user PostitPonies
Gouache paint and colored pencils, and the first time I think that I've added transparancy to one of my attacks.
User link: artfight.net/~PostitPonies
For user fauwa
Gouache paint, black pen, light blue paint pen, and some colored pencil for shading and highlights.
User link: artfight.net/~fauwa
For user Pronks
Gouache paints and colored pencil. A lot of these descriptions say the same thing... ;u;
User link: artfight.net/~Pronks
For user YourFriendlyCake
Entirely gouache paint. Changing it up just a little bit!
User link: artfight.net/~YourFriendlyCake
For user Throwawaycan
Pen lines, ohuhu markers and sharpie markers for colors. (The pants are something else I think? Can't remember what hmm...) Colored pencils for shading and highlights.
artfight.net/~Throwawaycan
For user RoyalStar
Entirely gouache paint. It's more time consuming to do lines in paint, but it has a nice look and I was really enjoying doing it.
User link: artfight.net/~RoyalStar
For user Knavewoods
Mostly gouache paint, some shading I think was colored pencil.
User link: artfight.net/~Knavewoods
For user AugustDaydream
Another entirely gouache drawing, this time I tried for more variation in the line color.
User link: artfight.net/~AugustDaydream
For user WinterWolfGurl_
Gouache paint and colored pencils.
User link: artfight.net/~WinterWolfGurl_
For user batbat
Almost entirely gouache paint, I think a few details are colored pencil but not many.
User link: artfight.net/~batbat
For user Feeshwithlegs
Mostly gouache paint, possibly some colored pencil shading. Also my construction lines are more visible than usual, oop.
User link: artfight.net/~Feeshwithlegs
For user tvnachvps
Mostly gouache paint with some colored pencils. Also for some reason I interpreted some piercings as extra little eyes... (the character is spider themed, so I guess that's where that idea came from) The recipient was kind and didn't say anything about that. ;u;
User link: artfight.net/~tvnachvps
For user lovickris
Gouache paint as base color, colored pencils for shading and textures, and pen for lines.
User link: artfight.net/~lovickris
For user tesvp
Gouache paint, lines and much of the details done with colored pencil.
User link: artfight.net/~tesvp
For user Sailor-Sunshine
Gouache paint for most colors and lines and shading, ohuhu maker for base skin color. Some colored pencil. I tried to do the heart hands pose that you can do in Fashion Dreamer. I couldn't for the life of me find a reference picture of it in the game or anywhere else, (and I didn't dare turn on the game while I had so much drawing to do) so I had to reference two different hand pose photos and feel like I made up the pose in my head. But really, I think search algorithms just suck now.
User link: artfight.net/~Sailor-Sunshine
For user ChocoPinda
Pen and gouache paint, some colored pencil. Based off of the card "Fortitude" from the tarot deck Star Spinner Tarot.

For user laughmyartoff
Gouache paints and colored pencils, and the hopes that I don't try to draw a vehicle again for a long time.
User link: artfight.net/~laughmyartoff
For user batbat
Pens and ohuhu maker, some colored pencil. My second ever try making a little animated drawing! I'm pretty stoked it actually looks like something.
User link: artfight.net/~batbat
Mass Attack
Fine tipped sharpie, gouache paints and colored pencils. I've never done a mass attack before, and really these could have all been submitted seperately, but I found it more satisfying to make into a set. These characters are all of a species called Wishfuls.
User links, in order of their respective characters:artfight.net/~MixterVEE - artfight.net/~starbrightwish - artfight.net/~ScourgeFeather
artfight.net/~MixterVEE (again) - artfight.net/~nonkie - artfight.net/~Sugary-Stardust
And then I was so sleepy lol
